The most popular food in southern Malaysia, Johor is Johor laksa. Johor laksa has coconut milk, use 'kerisik', dried prawns, lemon grass, galangal and spices akin to curry. The garnishing comprises slices of onion, beansprouts (Taugeh), mint leaves, vietnamese coriander or daun kesum, cucumber, and pickled white radish. Sambal belacan as kind of chili paste is placed on the side. Finally, just before eating, freshly squeezed lime juice on the laksa.
Johor laksa is unique than other laksa. Example Penang laksa, Ipoh laksa, Kuala Kangsar laksa, Sarawak laksa and many other laksa. It's because Johor laksa has Italian connection (spaghetti) is used instead of the normal rice noodles.
Johor laksa also popular during Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It's my favourite food and like it. Johor laksa is very popular in Johor and also in Malaysia. Many people love its, and not only for Malay, also china and india too.
