Important food in malay culture(Pulut Kuning)

Malaysia is better known throughout the world with its diverse culture consisting of the integrated society of mainly malays, chinese, and indians. Being malay, possibly the most important food in a malay's tradition is the pulut kuning. Malays however do not possess any original recipe, so the pulut kuning was initially derived from the indian culture, dated back not long ago in history. it was used traditionally in many festives and ceremonies, mostly in weddings, and that tradition is still being prolonged till this very day. the pulut kuning, is basically colored yellow to symbolize happiness in life, according to Hindu belief. Although, occasionally it is colored red. the rice is either served as a main dish or side dish, delivering many unique tastes according to the cookery eaten alone with no add ons, it tastes plain to a creamy extent. sugar can be added, as well as coconut milk with various delicacies such as shredded eggs, minced meat, and etc. it is served with many other well-known indian recipe such as curry, also other sauces, herbs to intensify and enhance the original taste or sublime it. Although the pulut kuning is eaten mostly by the majority of malays and indians, it's also famous in other cuisines around the world, mostly in neighbouring countries, indonesia, thailand and japan in some of their sushis. the pulut kuning wil remain, if the tradition still lives on, in our culture as an important food during many festives, be it during hari raya, a wedding, a death, a newborn baby.
